How It Works — a splice that lives in a toolbox
A cold splice is a precision V-groove in a 90 mm body. Two cleaved fibers slide in from opposite ends, meet in the groove over index-matching gel, and the caps lock them in alignment. No arc, no battery, nothing to charge — which is why cold splices ride in every repair kit even where splicers exist.
KW-07 comes in a ceramic-groove build for joints that must hold their loss for years, and a metal build for volume repair work. Cleaving quality decides the result, as with every mechanical joint — pair it with a K-series cleaver.
